Yvonne V. Hofmann

Yvonne V. Hofmann, 82, of Merrill, died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.

Born in Merrill on Nov. 22, 1924, Yvonne was the daughter of the late Arthur and Agnes Fellows Rathke. She married Norman Hofmann on April 10, 1948, in Merrill. He survives.

Yvonne graduated from Merrill High School in 1944. She had worked at Parkin's Ice Cream Parlor, People's IGA, Weinbrenner Shoe Company and was with the Scott School food service for 23 years until her retirement. Yvonne was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and the Women's Circle Club. She was also a member of the Copper Dells Homemakers Club. Yvonne enjoyed traveling, reading, crocheting, shopping, bird watching, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Norman, Merrill; sons Tom (Sharon) and Greg, both of Merrill; daughter Jenny Hofmann, Merrill; grandchildren Sheila (David) Hayes and Angela (Todd) Severt, both of Merrill; and Jeannie Hofmann, North Carolina; great-grandchildren Savannah and Morgen Severt and Hannah Hayes, all of Merrill; and sister Bettymae (Jim) Slewitzke, Colorado. She was preceded in death by sister Elaine Janssen and grandchildren infant Merrideth and Daniel Hofmann.

Funeral services were Wednesday, April 4, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Merrill. Rev. James Horath officiated. Burial was in Snow Hill Cemetery, town of Scott. The Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, was in charge of arrangements.
