Haraldson Deanna Dockstader Haraldson, 39, Fort Atkinson, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2007, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born to life on Dec. 30, 1967, in Milwaukee. Deanna was a 1986 graduate of Merrill Senior High School. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the UW Platteville business school in 1991. Deanna was employed by Johnson Hill Press (Cygnus Publishing). She was a friend to all who knew her. She always had a smile and a genuine concern for her family and her community. In living with cancer for seven years, she was an example and an inspiration to all. Deanna had an infectious laugh that brought joy to everyone around her. She had the ability to make others feel special. Deanna's disease took her to the Netherlands for treatment in 2002. During her seven-year battle, she endured eight separate chemo therapies and continued to fight and receive treatments until her final days. Her positive attitude and fighting spirit demonstrated her love and zest for life. She married Eric Haraldson, the love of her life, on Sept. 27, 1997. They loved to travel and were able to see Europe, Africa, the Caribbean and the United States. Deanna was community-oriented and was active in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life as well as the Beta Sigma Phi Delta Eta Chapter in Fort Atkinson. She is survived by her parents, Richard and Linda Dockstader, Merrill; grandmothers Jane Frey, Milwaukee; and Laura Johnson, Spokane, Wash.; sister Pamela Dockstader, Minooka, Ill.; and her husband Eric and stepdaughters Britta, Tenley and Gretchen Haraldson, all of Fort Atkinson. Funeral services will be at noon on Thursday, May 3, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Fort Atkinson. Rev. Chris Buckingham-Taylor will officiate. The Dunlap Memorial Home, 604 S. Main St., Fort Atkinson is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the University of Wisconsin, Paul P. Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center, 600 Highland Ave., K4/658, Madison, WI 53792.
