Ruth F. Kleinschmidt

Ruth Florence Kleinschmidt, 93, of Merrill, died Monday, April 23, 2007, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill, under Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice.

Born March 31, 1914, in Merrill, Ruth was the daughter of the late Albert and Martha Hinz Sense. She married Raymond Kleinschmidt on June 27, 1936, in Merrill. He preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1990.

Ruth had farmed with her husband Raymond in the town of Scott. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in the town of Maine, and the afternoon Women of Faith. Ruth was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and a 50-year and charter member of the Scott Hustlers Homemakers Club. She was a volunteer at Bethesda Thrift Shop in Wausau and at the Lincoln County Fair. Ruth belonged to two neighborhood card clubs, and attended the activities at the Merrill Senior Center. She also enjoyed playing sheephead, bingo, and especially playing games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her son Larry (Judith), Pine Island, Minn.; daughter Jane Kleinschmidt, Kaukauna; grandchildren Brent (Liz) Wilson, North Carolina; Kaaren (Don) Hagen, Cudahy; Peter (Lisa) Kleinschmidt, Prescott; and Heather (Dave) Visser, Elcho; and great-grandchildren Marlene, Rosalie, Amelia, Jennifer and Nathaniel. Also surviving are her sister Betty (Art) Voelz, Merrill; son-in-law Robert Wilson, Milwaukee; and sisters-in-law Evelyn Sense, Wausau; and Lorena Sense, Merrill. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, daughter Marlene Wilson, five sisters and five brothers.

Funeral services were Saturday, April 28, at Faith Lutheran Church, town of Maine. Rev. Kevin Hoogland officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, assisted the family.
