Clifford H. Pfingsten Sr.

Clifford H. Pfingsten Sr., 74, of 104 N. Thomas St., Merrill, died Friday, June 8, 2007, at his residence.

Clifford was born May 10, 1933, in Merrill, son of the late Fred and Esther Dorn Pfingsten. He married Shirley Leopold on May 16, 1953, in Merrill. She survives.

Clifford was a self-employed residential carpenter. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. Clifford enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards. He was an avid sports fan and card player. Clifford also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Shirley, Merrill; daughters Holly (Gary) Rauen, Athens; and Melody Pfingsten, Merrill; son Clifford Jr., Merrill; grandchildren Amy (Chad Sr.) Hoernke, Merrill; Glenn (fiancee Kristina Sjoberg) Strozewski Jr., Fredonia; and Natsha Pfingsten, Merrill; and great-grandchildren Chad Jr. and Tatiana Hoernke. Also surviving is brother Walter (Gloria), Wausau. He was preceded in death by brother Alfred.

Funeral services were Monday, June 11, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. Rev. David Klemm officiated. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, was in charge of arrangements.
