Felix Mecikalski Jr.

Felix "Mike" Mecikalski Jr., 73, of 4150 Felix Rd., Barnes, formerly of Merrill, died unexpectedly on Friday, Jan. 19, 2007.

Felix was born Sept. 24, 1933, to the late Felix Sr. and Josephine Sokol Mecikalski. He married Charlotte Karczewski on Nov. 6, 1955. She survives.

Felix served in the United States Army and the Wisconsin National Guard. He was a carpenter, factory worker, owned his own construction company, and was a cook in a nursing home.

Felix enjoyed fishing, hunting, metal detecting, 4-wheeling, watching sports and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife Charlotte, Barnes; children David, Barnes; Sandra (Bill) Grunewald, Sun Prairie; Dan, Barnes, Mark (Lori), Pontiac, Ill.; and Cindy (Lewey) Hackbart, Merrill;10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joseph and great-granddaughter Breanna Mecikalski.

Funeral arrangements are being made through the Brown Funeral Home, Solon Springs, with burial in the town of Barnes Cemetery.
