MARGARET YUNK

Margaret “Marge” Yunk, 89, of Merrill, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill, under Aspirus Comfort care & Hospice Services.

Born June 22, 1918, in Milwaukee, Marge was the daughter of Max and Christencia Gall Wanner. She married Wilfrid M. Yunk on Sept. 9, 1939, in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 1987, in Waukesha.

Marge was a 1936 graduate of Holy Angels Catholic High School in Milwaukee. She was a homemaker for most of her life. Marge was active in Christian Mother’s at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Milwaukee. She moved to the Merrill area in 1996. Marge enjoyed doing counted cross stitch and reading.

Survivors include her son Wilfrid “Bill” (Susan), Deerbrook; daughter Anne (Dennis) Wacker, Cedarburg; grandchildren Matt (Sharon) Yunk, Dousman; Andrea Chartier, Minocqua; Nicole (Guy) Klopatek, Tomahawk; Dean (Sue) Wacker, Pennsylvania; and Doug Wacker, Cedarburg; nine great-grandchildren and several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilfrid and 11 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were Monday, July 30, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Merrill Rev. James Horath officiated. The Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, handled the arrangements.
