Wednesday, 29 Aug. 2007; page 10 ---Jameson, Charles “Bob” R. (27 June 1925 – 26 Aug. 2007) Charles R. Jameson Charles R. "Bob" Jameson, 82, of 2800 Thielman St., Merrill, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill. Charles was born June 27, 1925, in Mountain, one of 12 children of the Late John W. and Euva Bradley Jameson. He graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1943. Charles served as a bombardier in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1947, and was commissioned as a second lieutenant. He married Demetria Menegas on Aug. 15, 1950, in Milwaukee. She survives. Charles was employed with Wisconsin Public Service Corporation for 34 years in the Western Hydro department based out of Merrill. When he retired in 1987, Charles was the hydro supervisor. Charles was active as a Boy Scout leader. He was the commander of the Civil Air Patrol squadron when it was established at the Merrill airport in the late 1950s. Charles enjoyed hunting, fly fishing, and flying airplanes. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his children and grandchildren at the family cabin on the Pine River. Survivors besides his wife Demetria, Merrill; include his daughters Patricia (Don) Rossman, Escondido, Calif.; and Mary Jo (Jay) Millenbah, Merrill; sons Michael, Stevens Point; and Jeffrey (Dawn), Merrill; grandchildren Brenda, Steven, Ryan, Charlie, John, Nick, Amber and Ashley; and great-grandchildren Brandon, Aaron and Marley. Also surviving are sisters Dolly Parke, Arizona; Jane Rhyner, Jackson; and Wilma Benter, California; and brother John (Chris), Green Bay. He was preceded in death by sisters Mary, Syble and Jo; and brothers George, Billy, Leroy and Walter. Funeral services are 4 p.m. this afternoon, Wednesday, Aug. 29, at the Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Carolyn Saunders will officiate. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the Jameson Family has requested memorials to the T.B. Scott Library, Merrill; Christ United Methodist Church, Merrill, or the American Cancer Society. |
