Marjorie D. English

Marjorie D. English, 74, of Merrill, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at Colonial Center in Colby under Comfort Care and Hospice.

Marjorie was born Jan. 5, 1933, in Merrill, daughter of the late Harold and Martha Hostman English. She married Albert "Al" Hommerding in 1954 in Merrill.

Marge was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Merrill. She had worked at Ace Hardware and the former Carl's Foodlane. Marge enjoyed working in her yard, shopping, keeping her house clean, and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a big "Elvis" fan...and collected a lot of memorabilia.

Surviving are her daughters Terri Hommerding, Crystal, Minn.; Kathy (Bill) Bloczynski, Wausau; and Heidi (Steve) Jackson, Antigo; grandchildren Jenny, Katie, Molly, Denise and Kevin; and great-grandson Cole. Also surviving are sisters Bonita (Fritz) Heller, Irma; and Nancy (Reuben) Gartman, Merrill; brothers Allison "Oopie" (Nancy) English, Merrill; and Richard "Dick" (Grace) English, Green Bay; sister-in-law Jeanette English, Merrill; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters Marcella Schneider and Donna Tomajcik and brothers Lyle, Sandy, Jim and Bruce English.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Christ United Methodist Church, Merrill. Rev. Carolyn Saunders officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park. the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, handled the arrangements. Marge's family would like to thank Sylvan Crossing in Wausau and Colonial Center in Colby for the wonderful care given their mom/grandma.
