Delores M. Westfall

Delores M. Westfall, 81, of Athens, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Delores was born Aug. 22, 1926, in Athens, daughter of the late Fred and Rose Klawinski Niewolny. On Feb. 11, 1946, she married Eugene Westfall in Wausau. He preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 1994.

Delores was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed gardening, watching the birds and baking, especially homemade bread.

Survivors include her daughters Charlene (special friend Jeff) Westfall, Merrill; Karen (Robert) Schlichting and Janice Bloch, both of Athens; and Pamela (special friend Steve) Westfall, Marathon; sons Leslie (Ann), Hamburg; David (Linda), Athens; Cliff (Barbara), Hamburg; Daniel (Sharon), Athens; and Eugene Jr. (Jane), Mark and Russell (Tammy), all of Hamburg; 26 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers Walter (Imogene) Niewolny and George (Pat) Niewolny, both of Wausau; sisters Maggie Kremsreiter, Abbotsford; and Gloria (Harry) Tagliaferri, Indiana; sisters-in-law Ethel Niewolny, Illma Niewolny and Lois Niewolny, all of Wausau; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene; daughter Beverly Westfall; two infant granddaughters; brothers Frank, Clarence, John and Irwin Niewolny; and sisters Theresa Meier, Merceda Zawacki and Sophie Frahm.

The funeral mass was celebrated Saturday, Sept. 15, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. The Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens, was in charge of arrangements. Online condolences at www.petersonkraemer.com.
