Gary B. Schmidt

Gary B. Schmidt, 56, of Merrill, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Born April 21, 1951, in Milwaukee, Gary was the son of Christian and Florence Rodeman Schmidt. He married Lori Schwabe on June 17, 1977, in Hubertus. She survives.

Gary had retired as a steam fitter for Local 601 out of Milwaukee. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Merrill. Gary had served in the U.

S. Navy. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and being in the woods.

Surviving are his wife Lori, Merrill; daughters Julie (Bill) Perkowski, Hubertus; and Keri (Scott) Doman, Sussex; son Christian (Amy), Menomonee Falls; his parents, former Merrill residents Christian and Florence Schmidt, Sussex; and grandchildren Tyler, Timothy, Tyler, Emily, Audrey, Makena and Jack. Also surviving are sisters Christy (Tom Wagner) Schmidt, Milwaukee; and Cindy (Ernie) Pereivia, Naples, Fla.; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, at Calvary Lutheran Church, Merrill. Rev. Mary Zupansic will officiate. Visitation will be tonight, Wednesday, Sept. 19, 4-8 p.m. and again Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to the hour of services, all at the church. The Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, is handling the arrangements.
