Phyllis C. Krause

Phyllis C. Krause, 71, of Merrill, died Thursday, July 5, 2007, at her home.

Phyllis was born March 5, 1936, in the town of Corning, daughter of the late Walter and Adelia Kleinschmidt Kottke. She married Gilbert Krause in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hamburg, on June 25, 1955. He survives.

Phyllis graduated from Merrill High School in 1955. She worked at Merrill Manufacturing for 44 years, and also farmed with her husband in the town of Corning. Phyllis was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill. She enjoyed lap swimming, traveling, walking, making maple syrup, and especially taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Phyllis liked having family and friends come to her home for family get-togethers. Phyllis' family would like to thank Hospice and Comfort Care for the wonderful care given during her illness.

Survivors include her husband Gilbert, town of Corning; son John (Bonnie), town of Corning; grandchildren Joshua (Laura) Krause, town of Corning; and Adam (Amanda Lake) Krause, Merrill; and great-grandchildren Mackenah and Johnny. Also surviving are sisters Carol (Philip) Krause, Merrill; Betty Kottke and JoAnne (Roger) Reuhs, both of Wauwatosa; Marlene (Don Johnson) Kottke, Merrill; and Kathy Kottke, Wauwatosa; brothers LaVern (Phyllis) Kottke, Athens; Wallace (Judy) Kottke, Merrill; and Wayne (Evelyn) Kottke, Athens; brother-in-law Delmar Zocher, Merrill; and sisters-in-law Marion Kottke, Athens; and Virginia Kottke, Wausau. She was preceded in death by sister Marjorie Zocher and brothers Loyd and Donald Kottke.

Funeral services were Monday, July 9, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. Rev. R. Brian Stolarczyk officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park. The Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, served the family.
