Michael C. McMullen

Michael C. McMullen 62, of 205 E. Fourth St., Merrill, formerly of Racine, died Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Mike was born Oct. 13, 1944, in Brownsville, Texas, son of the late Art and Dorothy Scholzen Shockley.

Mike worked at Lincoln Wood Products in Merrill for nine years. He was a member of Hillside Fellowship Assemblies of God, Merrill. Mike was a paratrooper for the United States Army. He was in the 1st Infantry Division in Vietnam and in the 504th Airborne Division in Mainz, Germany. Mike enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR races, attending car shows and watching his children's softball games. He also enjoyed spending winter in California.

Survivors include his daughter Michelle (Mark Cagle) McMullen, Merrill; son Michael P. (Christy Kangas), Racine; and grandchildren Jessica Niemi, and Kyle and Emily McMullen, all of Merrill. Also surviving are sister Cindy (Tim) Fitzgerald, Tomahawk; brothers Jim (Gloria), Glendora, Calif.; and Larry (Gail), Sturtevant; several nieces and nephews; his former wife Cathy McMullen; step-son James Williamson, Racine; his friend Pastor Bob Harmon; and many other special friends from New Hope Fellowship in San Dimas, Calif.

Funeral services were Saturday, June 30, at Hillside Fellowship of the Assemblies of God, Merrill. Rev. Allen Worlin officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, assisted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The American Cancer Society or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
