Luella R. Wendt

Luella R. Wendt, 83, of W8428 Cty M, Merrill, town of Corning, died Monday, June 25, 2007, at Woodland Court, Merrill.

Luella was born Aug. 26, 1923, in the town of Scott, Lincoln County, daughter of the late Clarence and Frieda Kleinschmidt Weide. She married Robert A. Wendt on Sept. 9, 1944, in Merrill. He survives.

Besides being a homemaker and a farm wife, Luella had been a payroll clerk at the Weinbrenner Shoe Company in Merrill for several years. Luella was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, town of Corning, the Altar Guild, the Ladies Aid, and had served as church treasurer. She enjoyed gardening, canning and making quilt tops.

Survivors include her husband Robert A. Wendt, Merrill; sons Stanley (Patti) and Russell, both of Merrill; grandchildren Robert Michael Wendt, McKinze Wendt and Kaeden Wendt; and sister Doris Raasch, Merrill. She is preceded in death by son Timothy Alan Wendt in 1957, and brother LaVern Weide.

Funeral services were Saturday, June 30, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, town of Corning. Rev. Joel Danner officiated. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, town of Corning. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, served the family.
