Grace M. Ecklund-Leopold

Grace M. Ecklund-Leopold, 75, of W4470 Pope Rd., Merrill, town of Merrill, died Friday, June 29, 2007, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Grace was born Oct. 28, 1931, in Merrill, daughter of the late Reinhold and Alvina Krenz Frick. She married Albert Leopold on May 6, 1998, in Merrill. He survives.

Grace was a footwear designer at both the Weinbrenner Shoe Company in Merrill and the Florsheim Shoe Company in Chicago. She was a member of Bible Presbyterian Church, Merrill. She enjoyed reading, bird watching, and attending to her Christmas village collection.

Survivors include her husband Albert Leopold, Merrill; sons Robert (Jill) Ecklund, Mosinee; and Dale (Connie) Ecklund, Merrill; grandchildren Samuel and Carl Ecklund, both of Wausau; and Catherine Ecklund, Lake Mills; sister Rose (Jack) Reichelt, Merrill; and brother Carl (Lizette "PeeWee") Frick, Tomahawk.

Funeral services were Tuesday, July 3, at Bible Presbyterian Church, Merrill. Rev. Bob Smallman officiated. Burial of Grace's cremated remains will take place at a later date in Snow Hill Cemetery, town of Scott. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, handled the arrangements.
