Josephine (Klemme) Gille

Josephine 'Jo' Gille, 93, formerly of 711 E. First St., Merrill, passed away peacefully Dec. 7, 2006, at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau.

Josephine was born June 3, 1913, in Kaukauna, daughter of Joseph and Nellie McNamee Bangart. She married Peter Gille in 1970 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Merrill.

Jo was a waitress at the Belleview Cafe in Merrill before being employed at Fowler Drugs where she worked until retirement. She enjoyed volunteer work, reading, traveling, TV, playing cards and bingo, and being with friends. She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Merrill.

Surviving are her daughters Betty Brye, Milwaukee; and Lois Jean Deltgen, Appleton; stepdaughters Joanne (Melvin) Gruetzmacher and Carol (Fred) Pester, both of Merrill; and Gay (Kenneth) Baumann, Wausau; stepsons Lee (Nancy) Gille and Edward "Butch" Gille, both of Merrill; seven grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister Rita Hupe, Farmington, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Pete Gille, son Wilfred Klemme, and sisters Elizabeth Lueck and Barbara Schultz.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, at

Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, is in charge of arrangements.
