Gerhardt A. Stueber

Gerhardt A. Stueber, 92, of 1010 E. Wausau Ave., Wausau, formerly of Naugart Dr., town of Berlin, Marathon County, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau.

Gerhardt was born April 17, 1915, in the town of Berlin, son of the late John and Emma Groth Stueber.

Gerhardt was employed as a farm laborer on the William Bartelt Farm in the town of Berlin. After Gerhardt's parents passed away, he became part of the William Bartelt family. Gerhardt was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, town of Berlin. Gerhardt's friends will remember him as a quiet, gentle man.

Survivors include his cousins; and his surrogate family, Gene (Sharon) Bartelt, Wausau; Carol (Robert) Zimmerman and Timothy (Vickie) Bartelt, both of Merrill; Thomas (Gayle) Bartelt, Wisconsin Rapids; and Juanita (Thomas) Oelke, Mark (Joline) Bartelt and Patricia Steinagel, all of Merrill. He was preceded in death by his friend William Bartelt.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, town of Berlin. Rev. Ronald Winter will officiate. Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday morning in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, town of Berlin. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday at the church. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family.
