Carol J. Grisa

Carol J. Grisa, 73, of 1209 W. Taylor St., Merrill, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, at Harbor House, Merrill.

Carol was born Feb. 8, 1934, in Merrill, daughter of the late Primo and Margaret Harbath Ricci. She married Warren E. "Skinny" Grisa on June 20, 1953, in Merrill. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1990.

Carol was the office manager for the former Anson-Gilkey Company, Merrill. She had also been employed at Northcentral Technical College in Wausau for 15 years prior to her retirement. Carol was a member of St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, Merrill; a member of the Dorcas Society of the church; was a member of the Merrill "Red Hat Club;" and was also a member of the Merrill VFW Auxiliary. Carol's hobbies included camping, flower gardening, crafts and sewing. After retiring, Carol enjoyed volunteering as a "reader" in the public school system.

Survivors include her daughter Denise (Bret) Kohlhepp, Chetek; sons Doug (Mary Beth), Merrill; and David (Cynthia), Concord, N.H.; grandchildren Andria, Zachary, Joshua and Jeremiah; great-grandchild Alec; and sister Rosemary (Ralph) Sturm, Merrill.

Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 22, at St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, Merrill. Rev. John Eldred and Pastor Missy Holdorf co-officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, served the family.
