Dale B. Guerin

Dale B. Guerin, 80, of 2600 E. Main St., Merrill, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.

Dale was born Aug. 26, 1927, in Merrill, son of the late Bernard and Clara Dahl Guerin. He married Irene Sjurset-Kleinschmidt on July 17, 1976. She survives.

Dale was employed at Lincoln Wood Products, Merrill. He retired in 1982. Dale was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy from 1945 until 1947. He was stationed in Japan. Dale was a Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and his pets.

Survivors include his wife Irene Guerin, Merrill; daughters Londa (Sherman) Della, Hawthorn Woods, Ill.; and Penny Pfortmiller and Roxanne Kleinschmidt, both of Merrill; son Robert (Lisa) Kleinschmidt, Merrill; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Kathleen (Edwin) Swan, Waupun; and Carol (Gerald) Storm, Onalaska; and many "favorite" sisters- and brothers-in-law on his wife's side of the family. He was preceded in death by his brother Duane.

Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Ted Gulhaugen officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park, with graveside military rites conducted by the Merrill VFW Post 1638.
