Judith K. Kleinschmidt

Judith K. Kleinschmidt, 59, 1011 Grand Ave., Merrill, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.

Judith was born Aug. 31, 1948, in Merrill, daughter of the late Carl and Angeline Nutter Pophal Sr. She married David A. Kleinschmidt on Aug. 12, 1967. He preceded her in death on June 2, 2005.

Judith had worked at the former Oconomowoc Canning Company and at Weinbrenner Shoe Company, both in Merrill. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Merrill. Judith enjoyed going to garage sales, walking, babysitting and shopping at discount stores.

Survivors include her daughters Theresa (David Sr.) Sousek and Tammy (Thad) Prentice, both of Merrill; son David A. Kleinschmidt Jr., Merrill; and grandchildren Jennifer, David, Jessica, Jacci, Haley, Ashley and Amber. Also surviving are sisters Margie Mae (Roger) Young, Tomahawk; and Beverly (George) Kleist and Phyllis (Paul) Mussell, both of Merrill; brother Carl (Audrey) Pophal Jr., Merrill; sister-in-law Trude Pophal, Merrill; brother-in-law Lawrence Knoll Sr., Florida; and a 'special sister' Jean Ann Wojcik, Neenah. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Betty Jane Knoll and Nancy Pophal; brothers Robert Pophal and David D. Pophal; and nephew Kenneth Knoll.

Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 27, at Christ United Methodist Church, Merrill. Rev. Carolyn Saunders officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, assisted the family with arrangements.
