Ida K. Coey

Ida K. Coey, 94, of 215 Grand Ave., Merrill, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Ida was born Oct. 11, 1913, in Yankton, S. D., daughter of the late John and Bertha Pomplum Krause. She married Joseph Coey in 1932. He preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 1980.

Ida had worked at the former Hanson Glove, Merrill and Merrill Candy Company. She was a member of St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, Merrill, Ida enjoyed needlework especially embroidery. She also enjoyed reading, tending to her flower gardens and taking care of her home. Survivors include daughters Barbara (Harold) Hopp, Merrill; and Iris (David) Wait, Santa Rosa, Calif.; son Gordon (Ruth), Anacortes, Wash.; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters Marcy Shanahan, and Frieda Mosser.

A private family service will tak place at a later date. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements. The family has requested memorials to St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, Merrill. Online condolences at www.taylorstinefuneralhome.com
