Marie D. Knispel

Marie D. Knispel, 91, of the town of Merrill, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.

Marie was born Jan. 19, 1916, in Marshfield, daughter of the late John and Mary Kulhanek Arnett. Marie moved to the Merrill area in 1939. She married William F. Knispel on March 13, 1943, at Dutch Corners in Lincoln County. He preceded her in death in December of 1979.

Marie was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill. She enjoyed playing cards, watching television, and going to garage sales.

Marie is survived by her daughters Judy (Terry) Alft and Sandra (Steve) Cotey, both of Merrill; sons Gerald Geishart, Wisconsin Rapids; and Don (Sandy) Knispel, Wausau; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Donna Knispel, grandson Danny Knispel and 11 siblings.

Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 26, at St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill. Rev. Kelly Leary officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.taylorstinefuneralhome.com.
