Leroy H. Krugler

Leroy H. Krugler, 77, of Merrill, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at Harbor House, Merrill.

Born in Chicago, Ill., on April 21, 1930, Leroy was the son of the late Fred and Marie Geib Krugler. He married Ruth Kuckhahn on Sept. 2, 1951, in the town of Berlin. She survives.

Leroy moved to a farm in the town of Merrill as an infant. He graduated from Merrill High School in 1947 and from UW Madison in 1955 with a bachelor's degree in industrial management. Leroy was employed by Inland Steel Cop., Milwaukee, until 1965 when he moved to Appleton and worked for Badger Northland in Kaukauna. In 1971, he joined his brother Fred at Krugler Construction, building modular homes in the town of Merrill. Leroy was active in church life, serving as president of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Appleton, and on the Building Committee and Board of Stewardship at St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill.

Survivors include Ruth, his wife of 65 years, Merrill; daughters Bonnie (Craig) Wilkum, Kiel; and Julie (Michael) Henrichs, Merrill; sons Steven (Stacia), Rockford, Ill.; and David (Tina), Robbinsdale, Minn.; grandchildren Jason (Sue) Breitzman, Robyn (Luke) Titel, Erin Wilkum, Shawn (Kathryn) Henrichs, Scott Henrichs, Andrew Krugler, Allison Krugler, Justin Krugler and Samantha Krugler; and great-grandchildren Olivia Titel, Cosette Breitzman and Jayden Henrichs. Also surviving are brothers Fred, Merrill; and Arthur (Lu), Whittier, Calif.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29, at St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill, Rev. Kelly Leary will officiate. Burial will be in Merrill Memorial Park. Visitation will be tonight, Wednesday, 4-8 p.m., at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, and again Thursday morning from 10 a.m. to the hour of services at the church.
