Arlene J. Schultz

Arlene Judith Schultz, 71, of San Diego, Calif., passed away from natural causes on Jan. 2, 2007, at her home.

Arlene was born Feb. 21, 1935, in Merrill, to Ethel and Harry Hass. She married Ambrose Andrew "Andy" Schultz in August 1964, and they lived in San Diego, Calif. She was widowed in 2000.

Arlene was a teacher for the San Diego Unified School District for over 26 years, teaching music and math to seventh and eighth graders at Einstein Junior High School. Arlene received her master's degree in music from the University of Wisconsin and also lived and taught in Madrid, Spain for two years. Arlene loved to exercise and do aerobics, walk the beach, and be outside in the sun. She was an active member of Pacific Beach Presbyterian Church where she volunteered in the office and at the Christian Community Service Association, packing food for the needy.

Survivors include her daughters Coethen Schultz, Nicki Tallman; and grandchildren Summer (5½) and Peter (4) Tallman. Arlene was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
