Lois Ruprecht

Lois Mae Ruprecht, 83, of Merrill, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill.

Born in Merrill on Dec. 13, 1923, Lois was the daughter of the late Edward and Alvina Belter Behrens. On Feb. 22, 1944, she married Willis Ruprecht in Merrill. He survives.

Lois did office work for Hansen Glove, Midwest Outerwear and Wire Products. She was an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Merrill, was an avid golfer and loved the outdoors.

Survivors include Willis, her husband of 62 years, Merrill; son Thomas (Marianna), Schofield; grandchildren Gina (Jay) Langkamp, New Glarus; John (Kristin) Ruprecht, Madison; Joseph (Judy) Ruprecht, Columbus, Mont.; and Jamie (George) Lenz, Clayton, Calif.; and great-grandchildren Jonathon, Catey, Nathan, Devyn, McKenzie, Cody and Marianna. Also surviving are sister Fay Herman, Wisconsin Rapids; and brother Richard (Mary Lou) Behrens, Wausau.

She was preceded in death by sister Violet Behrens and brother Donald Behrens.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Merrill. Rev. James Horath will officiate. Burial will follow in Merrill Memorial Park. Friends may call from 4-7:30 p.m. this evening, Wednesday, at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, and again from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday morning at the funeral home.
