Clara M. Kampmann

Clara Margaret Kampmann, 86, of Appleton, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, at Appleton Medical Center.

Clara was born Jan. 20, 1920, in Crookston, Minn.; daughter of the late John and Sophia Richter Hartmann. She married Jerome M. Kampmann on Oct. 10, 1943, in Lansing, Ill. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1962.

After Clara's retirement from the Kohler Company in 1983 she was the loving nanny for numerous families in Sheboygan Falls and the Fox Cities. She was a lifetime member of the Eagles Club, a member of various garden clubs, and a member of St. Pius X Catholic Parish, Appleton. Clara was a loving mother,grandmother, sister, friend, and adored by the many children for whom she cared. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.

Clara is survived by her children Gary (Sara) Kampmann, Kohler; Susan Kampmann, Merrill; and Deb (Greg) Nowak, Appleton; grandchildren Blair (John) Borthwick, New York City; Trevor Kampmann, Washington, D.C.; and Ashley Nowak, Appleton; and great-grandchildren Brett, Sabine and Aulden Borthwick, New York. Also surviving are her sister Erma Jentink, Sheboygan. She was preceded in death by son Jerome Jr.; brother Jon Hartmann; and sisters Marie Navarre and Elsie Dakuras.

A Funeral High Mass was held Monday, Dec. 11, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Appleton. Burial followed at Holy Cross Cemetery, Sheboygan. A memorial has been established. The Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton, served the family.
