Carol E. Hass

Carol E. Hass, 75, of 2100 E. Sixth St., Merrill, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2006, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.

Carol was born Sept. 27, 1931, in the town of Schley, Lincoln County, daughter of the late Ned and Martha Wangen Fox Sr. She married Carlos Hass on Sept. 13, 1958, in the town of Corning. He survives.

Carol had been a cook in various area restaurants. She also did seasonal part-time work and child care. Carol was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Merrill. She enjoyed embroidery, bead work, watching birds and other wildlife, dancing, and the company of her grandsons.

Survivors besides her husband Carlos, Merrill, include her daughter Cammie Hass, Wausau; grandsons Shawn, Matt, Ben and Anthony; and great-grandson Shawn Jr. Also surviving are sisters Andrea (Earl) Dallman and Martha (Walter) Bahlow, both of Merrill; and brothers Eugene (Joan) Fox, Wausau; David Fox, Irma; and Alfred (Linda) Fox, Royal (Geraldine) Fox and Dennis (Earleen) Fox, all of Merrill. She was preceded in death by sister Edna Dey and brother Ned Fox Jr.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Merrill. Rev. Ted Gulhaugen will officiate. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be tonight, Wednesday, from 4-8 p.m. at the Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and after noon Thursday at the church.
