Ralph C. Mueske

Ralph C. Mueske, 85, of Merrill, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at his residence.

Born Oct. 28, 1921, in Merrill, Ralph was the son of the late Carl and Augusta Wieland Mueske. He married Betty Plautz in Merrill on June 30, 1951. She survives.

Ralph served in the U.S. Air Corps from 1942-1946. His basic training was at Atlantic City, N.J., and he was then stationed in the South Pacific. He was awarded three battle stars, one bronze star and five campaign ribbons. Ralph worked at Ward Paper Company and Semling-Menke as a machine operator. He also worked in maintenance and carpentry at Holy Cross Hospital, retiring after 26 years. Ralph was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill, and served on various committees. He also delivered Meals on Wheels. Ralph enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Betty, Merrill; son Tim (Jenny), Merrill; grandchildren Alex and Mandy Mueske; brother Carl (Pat), Madison; and sisters Lorraine Berry, Berryville, Va.; and Elaine Tewes, Merrill.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, at Merrill Memorial Park Columbarium, with inurnment. Rev. David Klemm will officiate. Parking available. The Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, handled the arrangements.
