Walter L. Jameson Sr.

Walter "Bud" L. Jameson Sr., 85, of Merrill, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Born in South Dakota on Aug. 7, 1921, Bud was the son of the late John W. and Euva Bradley Jameson. He married Arleigh Peterson-Wyland In October 1983, at Holy Cross Chapel, Merrill. She survives.

Bud graduated from West High School in Green Bay in 1941. He had worked in Green Bay with Wisconsin Public Service Corporation at the Pulliam Plant. He transferred to the Weston Plant in Wausau in 1981. He retired in 1984. Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, making stained glass windows and shooting trap. He served in the Naval Reserve, Merchant Marine and Coast Guard. Following his retirement, Bud and Arleigh spent their summers on Half Moon Lake at Pound, and their winters in Port Isabel, Texas.

Survivors include his wife Arleigh, Merrill; daughters Jill (Steve) Brink and Laurie (Tom) Anderson, both of Green Bay; son Lee (Joan), Cambria; step-daughters Beth (Dale) Jankowsky, Merrill; and Ann (Matt) Barnett, Colorado Springs, Colo.; step-sons Reed Wyland, Jeff (Diane) Wyland and Peter (Judi) Wyland, all of Merrill; and Chris Wyland, Weston; several grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, including his twin Wilma Benter, Rancho Bernardo, Calif.; Jane Rhyner, Jackson; and Dolly Peck, Lakeside, Ariz.; and brothers Charles "Bob" (Tulie), Merrill; and John (Chris), Green Bay. He was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 24, at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill. Sister John Marie and Sister Mary Thomas officiated.
