Joyce G. Kleinschmidt

Joyce G. Kleinschmidt, 88, of Merrill, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill, under Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice.

Born in Merrill on Oct. 23, 1918, Joyce was the daughter of the late Alan and Elsie Haustman Quick. She married Leonard Kleinschmidt on May 24, 1941, in Merrill. He died on Sept. 16, 1991.

Joyce graduated from Merrill High School. She had been employed at the former Hanson Glove Factory. Joyce was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and had belonged to the Altar Guild and attended Sunday morning Bible Class. She also assembled church bulletins and delivered them to the residents of Pine Crest. Joyce enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading the Bible, gardening, attending her coffee klatsch, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her sons Leonard Kleinschmidt, Marshfield; and Jack (Sherry) Kleinschmidt and Robert (Joyce) Grob, both of Merrill; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Fern Isaacson, Merrill; and Maxine Alder, Denver, Colo.; brother Bruce (Delores) Riebe, Sacramento, Calif.; and life-long friend Mary Eye, Merrill. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard, daughter Roxanne Campbell, daughter-in-law Jayme Kleinschmidt, grandson Timothy Kleinschmidt, and brothers Howard Riebe, Donald Riebe, Edward Riebe and Eugene Quick.

Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 1, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. Rev. David Klemm and Rev. Brian Stolarczyk officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park. The Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, served the family.
