Ron W. Lafave

Ronald W. "Ron" LaFave, 66, of Wausau, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at St. Claire's Hospital, Weston.

Born in Phelps on July 12, 1940, Ron was the son of the late Wilbur and Eva Sulstrom LaFave. On July 6, 1963, he married Barbara Griechen in Wausau. She survives.

Ron served in the United States Navy. For 33 years. He worked for Norlen Inc., Schofield, until retirement. Among his many interests, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, and loved to tell jokes.

Survivors include his wife Barb, Wausau; children LeRoy (Terra) LaFave, Wausau; Lauri (Andy) Goretski, Tomahawk; and Brenda (Carey) Romanowski, Mosinee; and grandchildren Nicole and Josh LaFave, Kaylee and Quinn Goretski, and Casara and Chyanne Romanaowski. Also surviving are sisters Faith (Robert) Wiedeman, Manhatton, Mo.; and Christene Normand, Marathon; and brothers Fred (Connie), Ellensburg, Wash.; and Randy (Vickie), Wausau. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by son Brian, sister Marie LaFave, and brother-in-law Steve Normand.

Upon Ron's request, there will be no funeral services. The Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences at www.petersonkraemer.com.
