Virginia J. Morrow

Virginia Janke Morrow, 87, of Merrill, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.

Virginia was born on Nov. 4, 1918, in Wausau, daughter of the late Henry and Josephine Boyack Janke. She married Myron N. Morrow on Dec. 11, 1937. He preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 1980.

Virginia worked for Wausau Insurance companies for 22 years until her retirement in January 1979. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Wausau.

Surviving are her daughter Susan (David) Smith, Merrill; sons Michael (Nancy), Foley, Ala.; and Terry (Ruth), Wausau; grandchildren Michael (Martha) Morrow Jr., Foley, Ala.; Myron "Dan" Morrow, Chicago, Ill.; David (Christine) Smith, Todd (Patrice) Smith and Kerry Smith, all of Merrill; Linda Morrow, Wausau; and Jerry Morrow, Madison; and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brother Harold "Pete" Janke, Chambersburg, Pa.; and sister Arlene Sturm, Coos Bay, Ore.; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Myron, sisters-in-law Marion Boeker and June Janke, and brothers-in-law Robert Sturm and Robert Morrow.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 3, at St Paul's United Church of Christ, Wausau. Burial was in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. The Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, assisted the family.
