Gerald E. Peterson

Gerald Eugene Peterson, 76, of Stafford County, Va., died Monday, July 24, 2006, at his home.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Richland Baptist Church. Mr. Peterson had retired from the Department of Corrections in Lorton, Va.

Survivors include his wife, Lena C. Peterson; sons Calvin D. (Anne) Peterson, Stephens City, Va., Frederick C. (Pamela) Peterson, Marshall, Va., Clarence L. (Mary) Taylor, Fredericksburg, Va., William F. (Barbara) Taylor, Fredericksburg, Va., and Leonard L. Taylor of Fredericksburg, Va.; daughter, Norma J. Miller, Fredericksburg, Va.; brothers Peter Peterson, Gleason, and Floyd (Carol) Peterson, Stevens Point; sisters Mary (Don) Jan, Richardson, Tx., and Donna (Al) Sleck, Sheboygan; 14 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Verle Peterson, Merrill, and sister Lucelia Peterson.

A funeral service was held July 29 at Richland Baptist Church with Rev. Phil Howard officiating. Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, Va., assisted the family. Online guest book at covenantfuneralservice.com.
