Lois C. Hulke

Lois C. Hulke, 77, of 711 E. First St., Merrill, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, under Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, after a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Lois was born Nov. 29, 1928, in Merrill, daughter of the late James and Doris Zimmermann Daly. She married Darrell O. Hulke on Oct. 5, 1946, in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on Aug. 31, 1981.

Lois was a homemaker. She was a former member of the Eastern Star. Lois enjoyed reading, especially mysteries; crafts; and her beloved cat "Zeke."

Survivors include daughters Doris (Phillip) Neubauer, Merrill; Sherrill (Walter) Baumann and Connie (Dale) Ecklund, both of Wausau; and Brenda (Jeff) Larson, Eden Prairie, Minn.; son Pete (Maureen), Hewitt; grandchildren Paul, Ann, Daniel, Mathew, Bette, Adam, Jenna, Catherine, Carl, Max and Jack; and great-grandsons Zackery and Kyle. She was preceded in death by sister Lucile Muller.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 17, at the Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Carolyn Saunders will officiate. Burial will be in Merrill Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m. to the hour of services.
