Seligmiller, Martin W. R. Stark

Martin Wilhelm Rudolph Stark, 91, town of Hamburg, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at Cedar Ridge Elder Services, Weston, under Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

He was born Feb. 13, 1915, in the town of Berlin. On Dec. 16, 1944, he married Leona Hoeppner in the town of Stettin. She preceded him in death on Oct. 26, 1969.

Martin served in the United States Army in Alaska during World War II. He was a farmer in the town of Halsey for many years. Martin loved animals, especially horses and dogs.

Survivors include many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his wife Leona, he was preceded in death by his mother Emma Stark Hoffman and sisters Ella Stark and Exelda Seligmiller.

Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 12, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Berlin. Rev. Jeffrey Schmidt officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau, was in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Marathon County Humane Society.
