Laura E. Hahn

Laura E. Hahn, 90, of Merrill, died Friday, September 15, 2006, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Laura was born July 2, 1916, in the town of Scott, Lincoln County, daughter of the late Arthur and Martha Hass Schmidt. She married Clarence Hahn on June 21, 1941, in the town of Scott. He survives.

Laura was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill, where she was involved in the Ladies Aid. Laura enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, and playing cards. She especially enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Clarence Hahn, Merrill; daughters Beverly Sturm, Wausau; Lois (Larry) Sabatke, and Carol (John) Wegner, both of Merrill; son David (Rita) Hahn, Merrill; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by sisters Elsie (Clarence) Bade, and Selma Adams, both of Merrill; and brothers, Ruben Schmidt and Arthur (Phyllis) Schmidt, both of Merrill. Laura was preceded in death by sisters Lillian Zimmerman and Dorothea Kleinschmidt; and brothers Elmer, Norman, Alfred and Fritz Schmidt.

The funeral was Monday, Sept. 18, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Rev. David Klemm officiated. Burial was in St. Paul's Cemetery, town of Scott. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, assisted the family.
