William Lee Stebbins

William Lee Stebbins, age 95, of 2100 E. Sixth Street, Merrill, went home to be with his heavenly Father on Friday, September 22, 2006.

Lee was born May 20, 1911, in Bosworth, Missouri, son of the late William and Lydia (Tischhauser) Stebbins. He spent part of his youth in Kansas before moving to Merrill in 1936. He married Pauline Monell on May 17, 1936, in Kansas. She preceded him in death on September 19, 1986. He then was married to Diane Walsh from 1990 until her death in 2001. Lee was a Hydro Plant Operator for Wisconsin Public Service in Merrill. He enjoyed working in the woods, planting tree's, traveling, refinishing furniture, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include one daughter, Kathleen (Ronald) Nutter, Merrill; one son, Wayne (Julia) Stebbins, Rock Hill, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Keene (Dee) Nutter, Clinton, Wisconsin, Steven (Amy) Nutter, Greendale, Wisconsin, Lee (Laura) Stebbins, Snellville, Georgia, and Stanton Stebbins, Atlanta, Georgia; and four great grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathon, Jeffrey, and Molly. Two sisters, Beulah McKnight and Blanche Rude, and one brother, Theodore, precede Lee in death.

A private Family Funeral Service will be held. The Taylor - Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family.

The Stebbins Family has requested memorials to Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Irma, Bell Tower Residence, Merrill, or the charity of your choice.
