Glory Rutell-Klanderud

Glory Rutell-Klanderud, 63, of 612 S. Genesee St., Merrill, died Saturday, May 6, 2006, at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill. Her final needs were taken care of by her family, Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services and the Bell Tower staff.

Glory was born June 11, 1942, in Los Angeles, Calif., daughter of Elaine Van Slate Rutell, Merrill, and the late Ralph Rutell. She married Robert Klanderud on Dec. 30, 1982. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1997, in Minnesota.

Glory had been a hairdresser at the former “Milo’s Beauty Box” in Merrill. She and her late husband had owned and operated a motel in Springfield, Minn. Upon returning to Merrill, Glory worked for a short time at Mitchell Metal, then at HAVEN. She was currently a member of Hillside Fellowship of Assemblies of God Church, Merrill.

Survivors besides her mother Elaine of Merrill include step-daughters Kathy McArthur, Reno, Nev.; and Colleen Klanderud, Minnesota; step-sons Mike Klanderud, Prior Lake, Minn.; and Bob Klanderud, St. Paul, Minn.; sister Gay (Dick) Baumgart, Merrill; brother Merrill (Mary) Rutell, Wausau; niece Jessica Rutell-Basilio; and nephews Mark, Aaron and Ethan Baumgart.

Memorial services were Tuesday, May 9, at the Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Allen J. Worlin officiated.
