Einar A. Engel

Einar A. Engel, 88, of N2838 Hwy. 107, Merrill, town of Merrill, died Friday, May 19, 2006, at his home under the care of his family and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Einar was born Nov. 21, 1917, in Merrill, son of the late John and Martha Espland Engel. He married Rose M. Wolff on May 13, 1950, in Merrill. She preceded her husband in death on March 29, 2003.

Einar had been a millwright and union carpenter in commercial construction, mostly with Boldt and C.R. Meyer construction companies. He enjoyed playing cards and traveling.

Einar is survived by his daughters Linda (Gary) Kalenske and Debra Engel, both of Merrill; sons Robert (Barbara) Williams, Green Bay; Ted (Patti) Williams, Wausau; Elmer (Debby) Engel, Eagle River; and Mark (Debbie Bornfleth) Engel and Rod Engel, both of Merrill; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and brother Ronald (Alice), Waukegan, Ill. He was preceded in death by brothers Harold and Carl and three infant siblings.

Funeral services were Tuesday, May 23, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Merrill. Rev. Jeffrey Martinson officiated. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, assisted the family.
