Nancy Elizabeth Proska, 68, of Merrill, died peacefully Friday, March 17, 2006, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Born in Springfield, Ill., on Dec. 27, 1937, Nancy was the daughter of the late John and Pearl Bea Dyer. She married Frank Proska on June 9, 1956, in Springfield, Ill. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2000.

Nancy and her husband Frank owned and operated Al’s Point Resort in Tomahawk for 15 years. She was then a nursing assistant at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill until retiring in 1999. Nancy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, photography, and volunteering at Pine Crest Nursing home with the activities department.

Surviving are her daughter Michelle (Dean) Miller, Iron River; granddaughter Lindsay Miller; and brothers Raymond (Connie) Dyer; Bud Dyer and Paul Dyer, all of Springfield, Ill. She was preceded in death by sisters Inez, Joanne, Beatrice and Bonnie.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Marc 22, at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Brain Stolarczyk officiated. The family requests donations to the American Diabetes Association.
