Louise K. Knispel, 99, of 1400 E. Second St., Merrill, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at her home under the care of her sons and the Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Louise was born Dec. 31, 1906, in the Town of Pine River, daughter of the late Frank and Ernestine Krueger Zastrow. She married Reinhardt H. Knispel on Sept. 30, 1923, in Merrill. He preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1995.

Louise and Reinhardt co-owned and operated Knispel and Latzig in Merrill over 50 years. Louise was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill. She was involved in the Merrill area “Valpo Guild”. Louse enjoyed cooking and sewing.

Louise is survived by her sons Roy (Robin) Knispel, Oshkosh; and Lee Knispel, Merrill; and grandchildren Nathan Knispel, Philadelphia, Pa.; and Maria Knispel, Atlanta, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband Reinhardt, her parents and her brother Wilbert Zastrow.

Funeral services were Monday, April 3, at St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill. Rev. Kelly Leary officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park.

The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, assisted the family with arrangements.
