Dorothy Strasdin

Dorothy Mae Rebecca Strasdin, 84, of Antigo, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau.

Dorothy was born March 31, 1922, in Tomahawk, daughter of the late Lawrence and Emma Chariton Barney. She married Ralph G. Strasdin. He preceded her in death on May 27, 2002.

Dorothy had worked as a meat packer at a grocery store in the Toledo, Ohio area. Thereafter, she and her husband moved to Alaska. After retiring, the couple moved to the Lake Tomahawk area, finally settling in Antigo.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara (Chuck) Nelson, Lacey, Wash.; son Ralph R. (Mary), Hazelhurst; granddaughter Rachel Ann Strasdin, Antigo; and grandsons Richard (Kim) Strasdin, Antigo; and Gary Strasdin, Chicago, Ill. Also surviving are sisters Jackie (Jim) Pahls, Gleason; and Leona (Roy) Woller, Lake Tomahawk; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by daughter Hope, son Gary, and sisters Virginia Allikus and Marion Butkus.

Funeral services were Saturday, March 3, at the Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Steven Anderson officiated. Burial of her cremated remains will take place later this spring in Summit Cemetery, town of Summit, Langlade County.
