Mina E. Knudson

Mina E. Knudson, 75, of 3810 Cliff St., Wisconsin Rapids, a loving mother, went to be with the Lord at home after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

A tribute and celebration of her life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at First English Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Kenneth Hanson will officiate. Burial will be in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery, where she will rejoin her loving husband.

Mina was born March 26, 1929, in Merrill, Wis., to Robert and Emme (Tewes) Fechtner. She married Richard Knudson on August 11, 1951. He died Nov. 16, 1980.

Mina was a graduate of Merrill High School and lived the last 45 years of her life in Wisconsin Rapids, raising her two children, Nick and Robin. She was a bookkeeper for Neipps Hardware for many years and was a devoted mother, grandmother and housewife. She was an avid cook, camper and gardener. She also loved raising tropical fish.

She is survived by her children, Nickoli "Nick" of Wisconsin Rapids and Robin (Robert) Bentil of Milwaukee; grandchildren, Lonnie, Robert II, Robin, Wesley, Naomi, Jasoene, Benjamin, Joshua, John-Jeremiah and Matthew-Johnathan; her great-granddaughter, Hailey; and her half-brother, Walter Fechtner of California.

Mina was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 29 years, Richard N. Knudson; and her half-brother, Robert Fechtner.

Friends may call at Taylor Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. A lunch will be served following the services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to a memorial fund that has been established in her name at First English Lutheran Church.
