RUTH ELAINE LEYKAUF, 89, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at Lutheran Home. She was born in Merrill, Wis., and was a Fort Wayne resident since 1945. She was the daughter of Joseph and Delia (Stoddard) Dennison.

She retired in 1983 from Fort Wayne State Hospital as Bio-Chemistry Lab Technician, with 15 years of service. She was a World War II Navy veteran and member of Waynedale American Legion Post 241 and South Wayne Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Malvin Leykauf; daughter, Carol Taylor of Indianapolis; sons, David Leykauf of Roanoke, Stephen Leykauf of Granger, Mark Leykauf of Fort Wayne and Timothy Leykauf of Columbus, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; foster son, Michael Mellinger of Columbus, Ind.; stepbrother, Bud Dennison of California; and stepsister, Joan Lusk of California.

Service is 10:30 a.m. Friday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial at Lindenwood Cemetery.

Preferred memorials to South Wayne Baptist Church.
