Elvera M. Nowak

Elvera M. Nowak formerly of Glenview Funeral services for Elvera M. Nowak, 84, will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176), Libertyville, with the Rev. Val Laini of St. Joseph Church in Libertyville, officiating.

Born Dec. 13, 1919, in Merrill, Wis., she passed away Saturday, April 24, 2004, at the Winchester House in Libertyville. Interment will be in Maryhill Cemetery, Niles, following the services.

In later years, Elvera moved to Heather Ridge in Gurnee and Libertyville to be close to her children. She was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Parish in Glenview, where she enjoyed singing in the church choir.

Surviving are her children, Nancy (Ahmet) Borekci of Ankara, Turkey, Jack (Patricia) Nowak of Grayslake, George (Susan) Nowak and William (Diane) Nowak, both of Wauconda and Steve Nowak of Gurnee; and her grandchildren, Kenan, Will and Amanda.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Litkey; her husband, Mitchell Nowak, in 1991; and two brothers and four sisters.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association. Friends may visit www.dailyherald.com/obits to express condolences and sign the guest book.
