HARSENS ISLAND -- Mildred I. Platt, age 82, of Harsens Island, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004 in St. John River District Hospital.

She was born March 23, 1922 in Merrill, Wisconsin to Phillipena and Fred Hannemann. She married James Platt on Feb. 15, 1954. He preceded her in death in 1982.

Millie was educated to Milwaukee Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at Harper Hospital and Sinai Hospital from which she retired 20 years age. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and her many Harsens Island friends. She enjoyed playing bingo and was a member of the Sassi Sisters Red Hat Society.

She is survived by her daughter, Melanie (David) Heitz; her son, Mark (Marge) Platt; her three grandchildren who loved her dearly and will miss her so much, Michael Pennazoli and Veronica and Annemarie Heitz; uncle, Thomas (Marilyn) Platt; her sisters-in-law, Charlotte Raguhn of Wisconsin and Dottie (Rev. Dean Roy) Miller of Oklahoma; her dear friends, Joann Pelletier and Evelyn Pellow; and her many friends at the Harsens Island Lioness Club and the Harsens Island Seniors.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Gilbert Funeral Home. The Rev. Dean Roy Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Algonac.

Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. today and 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday.

Memorial donations may be made to the donor's choice.
