Elizabeth M. Ames, 1922-2004

Elizabeth M. Ames, 81, of Theodosia, died Friday, Oct. 22, 2004. She was born Nov. 20, 1922, at Merrill, Wis., the daughter of Paul and Elvine (VonLoh) Bootz. She married Wallace W. Ames Sr. March 27, 1939, in Chicago, Ill.

Mrs. Ames was a resident of the Theodosia area for the past 40 years, after moving from Essex, Ill. She was employed as a packaging specialist for the federal government before her retirement.

Mrs. Ames is survived by her husband, Wallace; one daughter, Diana McKinley of Ava; two sons, Wallace W. Ames Jr. and his wife, Jacklyn, of Manteno, Ill., and Gerald J. Ames and his wife, Magdalayn, of Theodosia; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Stanley Bootz of Mexico and Jerald Bootz of Wisconsin; and two sisters, Margaret Sloan of Wisconsin and Barbara Shapiro of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters; three brothers; and one grandson.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
