Irene Vannoy

RHINELANDER, Wis. - Irene Vannoy of Rhinelander, Wis., and former Greenough resident, died Dec. 18, 2004, at her home. She had been a resident of Rhinelander since 1989.

She was born Dec. 24, 1909, in Hartland Township, near Shawano, Wis., the daughter of Theodore and Louisa (Peterman) Toellner.

She married her first husband, Leslie Boettcher, on Sept. 12, 1931. They enjoyed more than 40 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1973. She later married Frank Vannoy of Greenough on April 19, 1975.

Irene was proud to have been a foster parent for many years.

She was a member of the Ladies Aid at Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill and the Sixth Ward Circle. She received great joy in volunteering at both the senior center and at the logging museum.

Irene is survived by two daughters, Carol (Jack) Kleinschmidt of Merrill, Wis., and Patsy (Mike) Curtis of Rhinelander; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her second husband, Frank in 1986; a son, Leslie Boettcher; and a grandson, Cory Waldburger.

Funeral services have been held with interment at Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery.
