Robert G. Ward

Robert G. Ward, 76, of Irma, WI passed away Saturday, February 21, 2004 at his home. He was born September 22, 1927 in Lone Rock, WI, the son of the late Oscar and Lenore Ward.

Bob grew up in the Merrill, WI area before moving to Aurora. He entered the military during World War II, serving with the Merchant Marines. Following his military service he moved back to Aurora where he met and married Belva Ridge in 1948. Bob was employed with Geneva Construction Company for 16 years. In 1981, the couple moved back to the Tomahawk, WI area where Bob loved to hunt and fish and be with his family and friends.

Mr. Ward is survived by his two loving daughters, Carol (Tom) Welter of Oak Grove, Missouri and Cheri (George) Poquette of Geneva, IL; five grandchildren, David (Vicki) Welter, Robert Welter, Eric (Tammy) Welter, Brian Stream and Aaron (Valerie) Stream; five great grandchildren, Benjamin Welter, Nathanael Welter, Logan Welter, Elizabeth Welter and Vincent Welter; three brothers, Milt (Eula) Ward of Oswego, Bud Ward and Jack (Hazel) Ward both of Aurora; a sister, Philena (Herbert) McCombs of Rushville, IL; and a sister-in-law, Lorna Ward of Aurora.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Belva in 1981; his twin brother, Dick; and his parents.

Visitation for Mr. Ward will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at the Dieterle Memorial Home, from 4 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be on Thursday, February 26, 2004 at the funeral home at 11 AM with Elder William Settles officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
