Rev. Franklin Hoffmann Jr.

PESHTIGO, Wis. — Rev. Franklin Louis William Hoffmann Jr., 69, of 1690 Martha Lane, Crivitz, Wis., died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at his home. He was born Aug. 19, 1932, in Tigerton, Wis., son of Franklin L. W. Hoffmann Sr. and Florence (Steinke) Hoffmann.

Rev. Hoffman received his master’s of theology degree and became a Missouri Synod Lutheran Church minister. He served for 45 years as pastor at the following churches, Zion Lutheran in Flagler, Colo., Immanuel and Trinity Lutheran Churches in Holton, Kan., St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elmore, Minn., Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morristown, Minn., and Luther Memorial Church in Gleason, Wis. He retired in 1987. He married Roberta Jean Thordsen on June 30, 1957, in Tigerton, Wis.

Rev. Hoffmann was a member of Tabor Lutheran Church in Mountain, Wis.

He leaves his wife, Roberta Jean; four sons, Mark (Linda), Franklin (Tina) , Luther (Beverly) and David (Rene); a daughter, Laura (Lyle) Trautmann, and 19 grandchildren.

Visitation were held from 9 a.m. to noon today at Tabor Lutheran Church in Mountain. Funeral services were at noon today at the church. Rev. Paul Scheunemann officiated. Burial will be in Mountain Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his sons, Mark, Franklin, Luther and David Hoffmann, and son-in-law, Lyle Trautmann, and Allen Thordsen.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

The Harper Funeral Home of Peshtigo, Wis. is serving the family.
