Roberta J. Hoffmann, 74, 530 McKinley Ave., Apt #2, Clintonville, passed away Monday June 19, 2006, at her daughter's home in the town of Belle Plaine, Shawano County, Wis.

Roberta was born on Feb. 24, 1932, in Persia, Iowa. She was the daughter of the late Edgar and Elizabeth (Ditzler) Thordsen. On June 30, 1957, she was united in marriage to Rev. Franklin L.W. Hoffmann, Jr. in Tigerton, Wis. The couple ministered in many communities over a 45 year period including Zion Lutheran in Flagler, Colo., Immanuel and Trinity Lutheran Churches in Holton, Kan., St. John's Lutheran Church in Elmore, Minn., Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morristown, Minn., and Luther Memorial Church in Gleason, Wis. The couple retired in 1987, but continued their ministry as interim at various churches. Rev. Hoffmann preceded his wife in death on Jan. 5, 2002.

Roberta was very devoted to her family and God, and became a member of the St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville in 2004. She was always very active in the churches they served, but was also involved with different 4-H clubs along the way.

She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, and loved to watch her grandchildren play sports.
